Sample Itinerary

  • camping_1_240DAY 1: Depart Nairobi in morning and Arrive at Maji Moto village late afternoon.
    Activities: Walk around to the Natural hot spring escorted by Maasai warriors, sundowners, lecture about the Maasai culture around the campfire and night bath at the hot spring.
  • Day 2: Walking after breakfast 4 – 5 hours to the top of the Loita hills, bird watching, learning about Traditional Maasai herbs and indigenous survival skills and history of the Loita hill. After the walk from the hill, lunch at the camp, after lunch the Maasai warriors training exercising going to start. This is induction course for young warriors
    Warriors training means: – spear throwing, mock fights, wrestling on the sand, the natural sisal throwing at each other, arrow shooting and targeting, making of the red from the natural stones and leaves, traditional marks showing(Maasai Tattoos), leg and hand burning, making fire from natural sticks and a wood, removing cow blood without killing, using different bow and arrow. Bead works for women visiting the maasai village sharing life experiences with them, i.e. warriors and women dancing, singing games from maasai children and goat slaughter, cow and goats milking, cooking at maasai hut, water fetching and firewood collection (women’s work). You will have an opportunity also to visit and experience and experience the community life. Children, depending on their gender, can also can participate in different activities such as looking after livestock among others.
  • Day 3: Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and your walk is escorted by Maasai warrior as guides and porters who will carry your luggage and the basic camping equipment, for your effort you will be rewarded with a view of the magnificent landscape and the traditional maasai people in the Loit Hill, on your walking along Savanah grassland, you may see gazelles giraffes Gnu hertbeest, Zebras and lots of different species of birds, lunch at the wilderness and overnight at ropile, you might hear lions roar, hyena sounds, elephant sounds and footprints of this wild animals and warriors dancing at night at the wilderness.
  • Day 4: Early breakfast at 7:30 a.m. moving at 8:00 a.m and lunch at the campsite at Maasai mara where you departute with the porters and then prepare for evening game drive.
  • Day 5: Leave camp for Nairobi and departure
