Get to enjoy this incredible 5-Day safari that incorporates wildlife viewing, nature and cultural experience of the Maasai and Samburu communities.
Pick up and depart Nairobi at 0800hrs (3hrs drive); for the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares Ranges and the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya.
You will arrive in Nanyuki at around 1100hrs. Stop for a snack shopping break before first proceeding to the Chimpanzee sanctuary.
The sanctuary is a refuge for chimpanzees from around West and Central Africa. Learn about some of the chimpanzees that live in the sanctuary’s natural enclosures, and see the primates as they approach a feeding platform. You will also visit informative conservation center which has lots of interesting artefacts as well as get to hear more about Baraka and Morani’s Stories.
Later on proceed to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy for Lunch. Check into the banda and have a rest before going for evening game drive at around 1500hrs.
The open plains, is home to a remarkable population of rare animals including wild dogs, zebras, cheetahs, and hartebeest, as well as the “Big Five”: lion, Cape buffalo, African elephant, leopard, and rhinoceros.
Dinner & Ovrnight at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp
Wake up at 0600hrs, have coffee/tea with a snack before departing for a morning game drive (0630 -0930hrs). Explore the conservancy in search of the big 5 among other game.
Return to the camp for breakfast.
At 1030hrs depart for Twala/Tenebo Cultural Manyatta (1hr 30min drive).
Arrive in time for lunch. You will be welcomed by songs and dances by our colourfully beaded maasai women.
Later, have lunch then check into your Maasai cottages. (Camping is also available)
In the afternoon; go on a birding/nature/plant tour accompanied by the maasai women. Learn about their efforts for income generation and conservation; including cultivating aloe for lotions and cosmetics, bee-keeping for honey, a kitchen garden and restoration of the land and river.
Visit their curio shops and make an attempt to learn beading. Other activities one can learn is playing bao, making fire using sticks, walking with livestock and fashioning arrows.
In the evening enjoy dinner over bonfire as you interact with the women; get to experience the traditional life of a maasai woman through their stories.
Dinner and overnight at the Twala/Tenebo Cultural Manyatta.
After breakfast go for a guided walk/hike among a troop of baboons. Learn about these amazing primates as you also observe the plants and animals through Maasai eyes.
Return to the manyatta, freshen up and depart for Samburu GR (3hrs drive).
You will arrive in time for lunch. Have lunch and check in before going for an evening game drive in pursuit for the big five among other game animals.
Dinner and Overnight at Sabache Camp
You will have an early morning. After having tea/coffee and a light snack at around 6:00 am, depart for Samburu National Reserve for a morning game drive in pursuit for the big five among other game animals.
At 9:00 am, return for breakfast at the Camp. Relax as you await the day’s activities some of the activities one can chose from include:
• Camel safari guided by a tour guide
• Cultural visit to the local villages, collect souvenirs and spend time with the Samburu women in their manyattas.
• A hike at the spectacular Mt. Sabache with the Samburu warriors
Later go on an evening game drive.
Return for dinner as you enjoy traditional music and dance around a campfire.
Dinner and overnight at Sabache camp, alongside traditional entertainments at the campfire.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Nairobi (about 5hrs drive) with health/snack stops. You’ll have your lunch along the way. Drop off at the airport or the hotel (Intercontinental hotel) depending on your flight schedule.

We require a completed booking form and a deposit of approximately 30% of the total trip cost, depending on the trip. The person signing the booking form does soon behalf of all other persons mentioned on the form. A contract exists when we issue written confirmation of your booking. We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.
If you cancel your trip: Cancellation of your trip must be made in writing to us and be signed by the person whose name and signature appears on the booking form. As we may incur considerable costs if you cancel, we will retain your deposit and may impose the following cancellation charges: 31 -15 days before departure – 80%, 14 days or less before departure – 100%. We strongly advise you to take out suitable insurance to cover such potential losses. If we cancel your trip: If we are forced to cancel your trip for reasons beyond our reasonable control (“force majeure”) we will offer you the choice of a full refund of any monies paid or an alternative trip. The Company will accept no liability for any costs incurred by you for anything other than the monies paid to us for the trip.
You must be adequately insured for any trip as a condition of booking. This should include cover for personal accident and medical expenses, including repatriation, and you are strongly advised to include cover for cancellation, curtailment and loss of property. Please carry a copy with you on the trip and leave a copy with a relative in your country of origin.
